Emma Ehrenreich (1906- ) was an abstract painter in New York City, New York. She studied at the Art Students League, City College of New York, Hunter College, and Long Island university. Ehrenreich was married to Bernard Ehrenreich and maintained close friendships with many artists.
Due to the small size of this collection the papers are arranged as one series.
The papers of painter Emma Ehrenreich measure 1.4 linear feet and date from circa 1938 to 1976. Found are biographical material, correspondence, photographs, and printed material. Of note are illustrated letters from John Von Wicht and his wife Kunigunde (Kuni).

Biographical materials include resumes, awards and prizes material, and price lists. Correspondence is with friends, artists, museums, and other art institutions. Of note are illustrated letters from John von Wicht and his wife, Kuni to Emma Ehrenreich and her husband Bernard. The letters show their close and friendly relationship. Other correspondents include Dore Ashton and Adja Yunkers, Helen Frankenthaler, Thomas George, May Heiloms, League of Present Day Artists, Naomi Lorne, National Association of Women Artists, Maria Norman, Abbo Ostrowsky, Pittsburgh Plan for Art, and Elias Wilson.
Photographs depict Emma Ehrenreich painting and with her artwork, her exhibitions, and her works of art including painting and sculpture. Also found is a portrait of John von Wicht by Grippe. The bulk of the papers consist of printed materials relating to Ehrenreich's exhibition career including clippings, exhibition announcements and catalogs, newsletters, and press releases.
