Donated in 2021 by Laura Carr. Carr received the letters from art dealer, William Pall, the son of Helen and David Pall.
David and Helen Pall papers relating to Philip Evergood date from 1966-1969 and includes five letters from Philip Evergood to the art collectors, photocopies of two letters from David Pall to Phillip Evergood, an invoice and packing slip for the purchase of an Evergood painting; an exhibition invitation for Philip Evergood, and a newspaper clipping relating to Evergood. Also included is a letter to Helen Pall from Jo Hopper, April 7, 1966. David and Helen Pall purchased a painting from Edward Hopper in 1965 and the couple became friendly with the Hoppers.
The Archives also holds the papers of Philip Evergood and a 1968 Dec. 3 oral history interview with Evergood conducted by Forrest Selvig for the Archives of American Art.
