Art collector; Philadelphia, Pa. Purves collected paintings by Maxfield Parrish during 1908-1914. The paintings were executed between 1906-1913. Parrish and Purves were close friends.
Lent for microfilming 1964 by the Vose Galleries who most likely acquired this collection through an estate sale. The original collection was forty items which was reduced when the heirs of Besty Purves auctioned off some of the paintings.
