Biographical note
Mildred Napier Beauregard was born in Milledgeville, Georgia. She was an avid traveler and photographer, taking numerous slides of the sites she visited.
Custodial History note
Pierre G. T. Beauregard III inherited the slide collection of gardens, landscapes, and other sites photographed by his mother Mildred N. Beauregard.
Immediate Source of Acquisition note
Donated to the Smithsonian Institution's Office of Horticulture (later Smithsonian Gardens) in 1987 by Mildred Beauregard's son, Pierre G.T. Beauregard III.
Arrangement
The historic order of the slides has been maintained and reflects an organization based on geographic location. In rehousing the slides, rubber bands were removed for preservation purposes and replaced with archival quality card stock to indicate groups of slides that were formerly banded together.
