Photographs depicting archeologists and archeological structures in and around the Navajo reservation. The photographs were made by various photographers including Don Fowler, David Brugge, and Richard Van Valkenburgh, and one photograph each by Maxwell Yazzie and Loren Bell.
The photographs were made during reconnaissance in connection with Navajo land claim, Docket 229, before the Indian Claims Commission.
The collection is open for research.

These photographs were originally in the "Duplicate Photo" file of the Navajo tribe's research files in Window Rock, Arizona. They were donated through J. Lee Correll to the National Anthropological Archives in exchange for NAA photos, 1973.
