The collection consists of a photograph depicting an exhibit by M. J. W. White at the 1942 convention of the Virginia Medical society in Roanoke, Virginia. The exhibit consisted of artifacts that he collected in the Philippines, including a map, hats, textiles, pots, photographs, jewelry, and weapons. A copy of a newspaper article relating to the exhibit is included in the collection.
Dr. M. J. W. White was a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Medical Corps who was stationed on the Philippine island of Mindinao for six years, circa 1923-1935.
