This accession consists of the Lemelson Center website as it existed on July 16, 2010. The Lemelson Center was founded in 1995 at the National Museum of American History. Its mission is to document, interpret, and disseminate information about invention and innovation; to encourage inventive creativity in young people; and to foster an appreciation for the central role of invention and innovation in the history of the United States. The website features general information about the Lemelson Center, a calendar of events, online exhibitions, the Invention at Play and Spark!Lab websites, finding aids, the MIND (Modern Inventors Documentation Program) database, podcasts, videos, and press releases.
