This accession consists of the records of Lonnie G. Bunch, Director, and document his work in the development of the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC). His work touched upon every aspect of the museum including the collection of objects for the museum, the design and construction of the museum building, exhibitions, museum programs and partnerships, and fundraising. Also documented is Bunch's work on the boards of various organizations. Some materials date to before the creation of the museum.
Materials include correspondence, memoranda, meeting agendas and minutes, reports, grant proposals, notes, presentations, interview records, exhibition outlines and scripts, floor plans, press releases, images, video recordings, clippings, and other related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.
