Smithsonian Institution Archives, Record Unit 7199, Sven M. Gronberger Manuscript
Sven M. Gronberger (1866-1916), born and educated in Sweden, moved to the United States and joined the library staff of the Smithsonian in 1907. He published a number of papers on ornithology and had almost completed the requirements for his Ph.D. in zoology and geology at the time of his death.
This manuscript was apparently Gronberger's doctoral dissertation on European and Asiatic species in Greenland from the eighteenth century until the date of writing.
